If your game is still slow or crashing you should try installing the 64-bit RuneLite client from the dropdown on the runelite website. At the very bottom of your plugin configuration you can enable "model caching" and "model batching" to get this major performance improvement but be aware that this is an experimental feature. It would be irresponsible for 117 HD to cause somebody to lose their HCIM or other high risk account because we didn't properly test this system so it's an opt-in feature for now. ![]() I've spent months reworking one of our performance improving features and it is indeed much faster than before but we can't enable as the default until we're sure that won't cause any crashes or major visual bugs. Why is my game laggier after this update? For example, it makes caves darker where they would otherwise appear to be lit by direct sunlight without this option enabled. This config option changes the lighting to match the environment that you are in. You can still disable it if you like but it is the way 117 HD was intended to be played. People are making an assumption when stating the client didn't make it because of copyright infringement. RuneLite for example uses icons in their client which are directly taken from the game. Most popular clients have used assets or imagery taken from Jagex. Please give me an example of a client that was used to connect to Jagex game servers without the intent of giving the user an unfair advantage that was squashed by Jagex with them explicitly stating that the ripped assets where the problem. ![]()
